Our Process
How It Works

Our Process

Every case begins with an honest assessment. Some situations are technically recoverable, while others require investigation or documentation rather than direct recovery. Our process is designed to identify the right path before any engagement begins.

4Steps from contact to resolution
01
Step One

Free Case Review

Tell us what happened, including the type of wallet or exchange involved, what you still have access to (device, password, seed phrase fragments, wallet files, or transaction IDs), and approximately when the incident occurred. We review the information to determine whether your case falls into a realistically recoverable category.

02
Step Two

Technical or Investigative Assessment

Depending on your situation, we either perform technical diagnostics on wallet files or devices, or conduct blockchain tracing to analyse the movement of funds and identify relevant transaction paths.

03
Step Three

Written Engagement

Before any work begins, you'll receive a written agreement explaining the scope of work, pricing model, estimated timeline, and any success-based fee arrangements where applicable. Work only starts once you approve the engagement.

04
Step Four

Resolution

For recovery engagements, we restore access or recovered assets to a wallet under your control, with success-based fees applied only where agreed. For tracing engagements, we deliver a comprehensive investigation report together with practical guidance on recommended next steps.

Transparency first: If our assessment indicates that a case is unlikely to succeed, we'll explain why before you commit to a paid engagement.

What to Have Ready for Your Free Review

Not all of these will apply to your case — bring whatever you have. Missing items don't disqualify you from a review.

Wallet or Exchange Type

The software, hardware device, or exchange platform involved.

Seed Phrase Fragments

Any words you remember, even partial or possibly out of order.

Wallet Files or Backups

Keystore, .dat, or other backup files, even if they seem corrupted.

Transaction IDs

Hashes or references for any transfers relevant to your case.

Rough Timeline

Approximately when the loss or access issue occurred.

Device Access

The physical device, if the issue involves a hardware wallet.

Two Paths From Here

Step Two determines which of these applies to your case — most cases fall clearly into one, though some involve both.

Path A · Recovery

You still control the wallet

  • Applies to lost passwords, partial seed phrases, corrupted files
  • Success is objectively verifiable — the wallet opens or it doesn't
  • Fee only applies once access is restored

Path B · Investigation

Funds left your control

  • Applies to scams, phishing, and unauthorized transfers
  • Deliverable is a trace report, not guaranteed fund recovery
  • Billed flat fee or hourly, agreed in writing before work starts

Process Questions

A few things people usually ask before starting a review.

Is the free case review really free?
Yes. Step One costs nothing regardless of outcome — including if we determine your case isn't realistically recoverable.
How long does each step usually take?
The initial review is typically same-day. Technical or investigative assessment length depends on case complexity — we'll give you a specific estimate once we understand your situation.
What happens if my case isn't recoverable?
We tell you plainly at the assessment stage, before any paid engagement begins. We don't proceed with paid work on cases we don't believe have a realistic path forward.
Can I see the agreement before committing?
Yes — the written engagement in Step Three lays out scope, pricing model, and timeline in full before you're asked to approve anything.
